Halal Monitoring Authority Canada

The Halal Monitoring Authority (HMA) Canada is a non-profit halal certification and monitoring organisation established in 1997 and operating primarily in Ontario, Canada. HMA provides halal certification for food products, slaughter operations, and food-service establishments, applying standards based on mainstream Islamic jurisprudence with a focus on meat and poultry compliance. HMA's certification model includes ongoing physical monitoring at certified abattoirs and processing facilities, similar to the approach of HMC in the UK, providing a higher level of supply chain transparency than periodic-audit-only models.
