Nippon Asia Halal Association

The Nippon Asia Halal Association (NAHA) is a Japan-based halal certification organisation established in 2014, providing halal certification services to Japanese food manufacturers, restaurants, and ingredient suppliers seeking access to Muslim consumer markets in Japan and internationally. NAHA operates alongside the Japan Halal Association (JHA) within Japan's growing halal certification ecosystem, driven by Muslim tourism and Japanese food export ambitions. NAHA's certification covers food products, food-service establishments, and ingredient suppliers, with certificates recognised by JAKIM (Malaysia) and MUIS (Singapore). The organisation supports Japanese businesses navigating the complexity of halal compliance — from ingredient sourcing through production controls to certification documentation — and provides halal awareness training and consultancy. As Japan's Muslim visitor numbers and domestic Muslim population grow, NAHA contributes to building the halal infrastructure needed for Japan to compete as a global halal food producer and Muslim-friendly tourism destination.
